Development through sports
Change the Game is a sport development network, aiming to improve
the lives of people in slums.
The increasing number of people living in slums is one of the world’s
biggest challenges for the next decades. Our mission is to develop,
maintain, expand and coordinate a worldwide sport development and
educational network: Change The Game.
This network seeks to provide equally valuable partnerships between
the poor South and rich North, in order to bridge the gap. So far
the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Uganda, Belgium, Guatemala
and Brazil joined our network.
Change the Game works through sport development and development
education, using sports and games as tool to achieve important human
competences.
We try to provide access to sports and recreational activities for
all youngsters between 6 and 21 years. These activities will shape
them as positive and competent citizens.
Change the Game has obtained a lot of knowledge and experience in
the area of sport and development education. Right now we put our
efforts in the extension of our network organization and in the
maintenance of quality.
An assessment of Change the Game EU pilot project (in 2007) called us: “Overall a refreshing, innovative and potentially strategic project…”
